Client Case Study: Nike

An American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services.

As part of our proposal to our potential client Nike, I was tasked to make a creative pitch to be presented to the client and make creative mockups.

As a result, Nike started a long-term collaboration with us that still continues presently, and has expanded the collaboration in different regions.

Client's goals

There are 2 main goals client would like to achieve with us:

  • They wish to drive more registrations from existing Nike app users who have not registered
  • They'd like to drive purchases from lapsed users (ie. users who have not opened the app for a long time).

My process

After receiving the brief, I did some further research to find out how to best meet client's goals. Since they did not provide a lot of assets for us at this stage, I had to search the internet for different points of references: their app design, Facebook/Instagram ads, EDMs, TV commercials...

In order to meet their specific goals, I identify the following key questions that need to be answered:

  • Why would a user use the Nike app instead of other means (in-store, website)?
  • What's the benefit of registering on the Nike app?
  • Do they have any special perks for new users or lapsed users?

After receiving the answers, I brainstormed ideas and formats that can convey what client wants on the ad. With the help of our copywriter, we came up many variations of the creatives and went through internal review.

After reviewing, I narrowed down to a few ideas that were compiled and share with the client. I decided to go for 2 different ad formats, static ads and dynamic ads:
